Career is where the heart goes. Contrary to the belief of the olden times, that hobby is for hobby's sake.. nothing serious; has now changed. In the current times, it is more likely that you will be successful if you can create your own niche. It can be your career option, which can stem out of something you deeply love. The reason for such a theory can be attributed to level of enthusiasm that is maintained for something we love. It makes us to take efforts, experiment, discover or invent something we love to do and, it causes no fatigue. But, in no sense does it mean that it is easy. It does require a lot of hardships, sacrifices, tenacity and will but the belief in it and love towards it does not make you feel the pain that you undergo.
Now, to further clarify this, we take some real life examples. In words of Mr. A M Naik, L&T Chairman, "L&T is my hobby and everything else is work". He has climbed to rank 7 this year from 30 last year, in ET's list of most powerful CEOs. Every one knows Mark Zuckerberg whose hobby for writing software programs led him to be the co-founder of Facebook. Steve Jobs' hobby of playing with electronic devices led him to found apple computer. Sir Richard Branson was poor in academics but his ability to connect with people made him business tycoon and transformational leader. The list of such personalities who selected their career option as something they deeply love doing and had been successful is endless. It just can be anything!
What it demands is- identify it and pay attention to it. As you love doing it, make it recognisable with relevant certifications, which would not necessarily add to the skill but will make you more acceptable in that domain. Every hobby has a culmination in profession, be it your love for drawing which can make you a high paid Ad Man, or simply trying to repair broken radios which can make you electronic engineer, or may be your love towards food can make you fat salaried official taster of food in any of the multi million food companies. So never mind if you are not best at something that everyone wants you to be, just be best at where your heart wants you to be and make a wise career option.
I just want to be a medium to help you identify what best you can make out of what best you do through my discussion about various career options, and, I am sure I can.
Enjoy!!!
